Job summary

Amentum in the UK is seeking a Construction Delivery Manager to support the delivery of a defined section of works, coordinating logistics, planning and communications with site teams. The role requires close collaboration with the Senior Construction Delivery Manager to ensure safety, quality and timely completion across activities.

The role focuses on CDM compliance, reporting, and proactive coordination with partner organisations to maintain momentum and clear communications on site.

Qualifications

  • Experience with construction sequencing, recovery plans, and resource allocation.
  • Good understanding of CDM Regulations.
  • Experience delivering projects.
  • Ability to write informative, concise, and meaningful reports.
  • Motivate and energise contract partners by building trust and encouraging diverse views.
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction management, or equivalent vocational training and experience.
  • SMSTS or IOSH qualification holder.

Responsibilities

  • Support contract partners in delivering works packages for efficient completion.
  • Recommend temporary measures to mitigate safety or quality concerns, and follow up with actions.
  • Monitor site works and feed data into the daily report for escalation.
  • Coordinate with site teams to maintain timely reporting and communication to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager.
  • Attend PLOD/PLOW meetings and ensure outputs are recorded and issued.
  • Undertake safety and/or assurance inspections supporting HSPI.
  • Ensure clear two-way communication with the Senior Construction Delivery Manager.

About the Opportunity

The ConstructionDeliveryManagerwill support the delivery ofan area within aspecific section of theWorks. This responsibility extends to all construction and related activities, reporting to theSenior ConstructionDeliveryManagerand includes logistics planning and implementation in collaboration with the site wide logistics team,programming and planning, monitoring and close out of authorities’obligations and conditions andclient liaison.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the contract partners in their delivery of the works packages to enable efficient delivery of the of their sectionsofworks.

  • Recommend temporary measuresto mitigate against safety and/or quality concerns. Follow up by takingappropriateand proportionate action (e.g. issue communications, call meetings) to avoid thecessationof works.This includes but is not limited to review of documents, assurance audits etc.

  • Monitor works on site and input into the construction daily report to ensure information is reported up through the organisation to theSenior Construction Delivery Managerand escape any issues/concerns via detailed reports.

  • Proactively communicate/co-ordinatewith othersiteteams(H&S, contract, project controls,logistics)andConstruction Delivery Managerstomaintaingood communicationlinks, and ensure activity is well andtimelyreported.This will also include attendances at pre-start briefings and supporting the delivery of key messages to thecontractor’sorganisation.

  • Attend PLOD/PLOW meetings with the contractor, ensure outputs are recorded and issued to the SCDM.

  • Undertake safety and/or assurance inspections thatsupport the project HSPI’s.

  • Ensure clear, two-way communication withtheSenior Construction Delivery Managerso that all activityand issues aredirected appropriately

Education, Experience and Skills:
  • Experience and knowledge ofconstruction sequencing, recoveryplansandresource allocation.

  • Goodunderstanding of the post holder’s obligations under CDMRegulations.

  • Working knowledge in the delivery of projects.

  • Be ableto write informative,conciseand meaningful reports

  • Motivate and energisecontract partnersby building a climate of trust and understanding and actively seeking alternative views and opinions.

  • Possess excellent organisation and communication skills.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, ElectricalEngineeringor Construction management, or equivalent vocational training and experience.

  • SMSTS or IOSH qualification holder
