Job summary

Arbuthnot Yon Ltd in the Midlands seeks a Construction Lawyer (2–7 PQE) to join its in-house legal team. You will advise on construction matters, draft and negotiate contracts (JCT/NEC), and support major infrastructure and renewables projects.

The role offers hybrid working, with applications welcomed for 4 or 5 days per week, and a supportive, high-performance environment focused on development and progression.

Qualifications

• Advise on a broad range of construction matters, including drafting and negotiating construction contracts (e.g. JCT/NEC) and supporting major infrastructure and renewables projects.
• Provide pragmatic, commercial advice to operational, engineering, procurement and project teams.
• Contribute to wider legal matters and work collaboratively across the in-house legal function.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate construction contracts (JCT/NEC) for major infrastructure and renewables projects.
• Support expanding capital projects and the construction pipeline.
• Offer pragmatic, commercial advice to project teams across functions.
• Collaborate with the broader in-house legal team on cross-cutting matters.
