Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is supporting a growing construction business in Wrexham, Denbighshire, to recruit a Buyer responsible for procurement across Commercial, Agricultural and Industrial projects. You will manage purchases, price negotiations and supplier relationships, ensuring timely deliveries.

You will work with design and site teams, handle take-offs, issue and track purchase orders, and identify supply risks.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing/procurement within construction.
• Background in cladding, steel frames or general construction.
• Understanding of procurement processes and supplier negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an effective system for monitoring all open purchase orders
• Track orders through to fulfilment and ensure relevant documentation is accurately maintained
• Negotiate with suppliers and coordinate plant hires
• Liaise closely with site teams to ensure deliveries correspond with purchase orders
• Identify and report back-ordered, delayed or missing materials and products
