Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is assisting a construction-focused business in Wrexham to hire a Buyer. The role supports procurement across commercial, agricultural and industrial projects, handling material take-offs, supplier negotiations and PO management.

You will liaise with design and site teams to ensure timely deliveries and maintain accurate records. The ideal candidate will have prior purchasing experience in construction, with a track record in materials procurement and supplier

Qualifications

• Previous purchasing / procurement experience.
• Background in cladding, steel frames or general construction.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a system for monitoring all open purchase orders.
• Track orders through fulfilment and maintain related documentation.
• Negotiate with suppliers and coordinate plant hires.
• Liaise with site teams to ensure deliveries match purchase orders.
• Identify and report back-ordered, delayed or missing materials.

Are you a Buyer or similar with experience within the construction industry, looking to join an established business where you will play a key role supporting procurement across a varied portfolio of Commercial, Agricultural and Industrial construction projects?

This company offer a wide range of services within the construction industry and have grown year on year. Due to their impressive pipeline of projects and influx of work, they are looking to grow the team.

In this role you will be involved with supporting all aspects of the business from their design team to construction and utilities. You will assist with; material take-offs, procuring materials, coordinating hires and quotations, negotiating with suppliers as well as identifying supply chain risks.

This role will suit a buyer from the construction industry looking to take ownership of purchasing requirements across multiple projects, with responsibility for everything from processing site requisitions to raising purchase orders.

The Role:

• Develop and maintain an effective system for monitoring all open purchase orders
• Track orders through to fulfilment and ensure relevant documentation is accurately maintained
• Negotiate with suppliers and coordinate plant hires
• Liaise closely with site teams to ensure deliveries correspond with purchase orders
• Identify and report back-ordered, delayed or missing materials and products
