Job Opportunity: Buyer in Construction Sector

GPW Recruitment is seeking an experienced Buyer with a strong background in the Construction sector for a permanent position.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established family business with over 30 years of presence in the industry.

As a key member of a friendly and experienced team, you will work closely with the contract manager and suppliers, undertaking general purchasing duties within the construction industry.

Responsibilities include:

1. Daily ordering of raw materials from external suppliers
2. Ordering and reviewing plant hire, tools, and equipment to ensure minimum hire costs while maintaining reports
3. Updating delivery dates, chasing late orders, and expediting raw materials as required
4. Monitoring stock levels and liaising with supervisors to replenish stocks
5. Collaborating with Contracts Managers, Goods In, and Production to meet business requirements, including stock availability
6. Liaising with Goods In, Purchase Ledger, and Suppliers regarding delivery or invoice discrepancies
7. Reviewing purchasing agreements and maintaining price updates with suppliers
8. Sourcing new raw materials suppliers and services
9. Requesting samples and technical information from potential new suppliers for future projects
10. Negotiating with new and existing suppliers

The ideal candidate will have specific experience in the construction sector.
