Job summary

Inspire Education Group (IEG) is seeking a Lecturer in Construction and Built Environment at Peterborough College. The role is full-time, all-year-round, with a focus on delivering high-quality construction education and supporting learners across Level 1–3.

You will develop engaging programmes, assess work, provide feedback, and collaborate with employers to support employability, including work experience placements. Training to teach is provided if needed.

Qualifications

• Substantial and recent industry experience in construction.
• Ability to teach learners from Level 1 to Level 3.
• A Level 3/4, HND or degree in construction or a professional qualification.
• A recognised teaching qualification is encouraged; training will be provided.
• Enthusiastic communicator with motivation and safeguarding commitment.
• Strong organisational, IT and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching across Technical Construction programmes.
• Assess student work and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Set, monitor and review SMART targets to support learner progress.
• Develop engaging course materials and schemes of work.
• Deliver academic tutorials and learner support sessions.
• Maintain records of attendance, progress and achievement.
• Support course co-ordination and internal verification activities.
• Build positive relationships with learners to drive outcomes.
• Assist with work experience placements and employer engagement.
• Participate in student recruitment, enrolment and promotions.
• Embed English, maths and digital learning within teaching practice.
