Job summary

Buglife is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead and develop the Conservation team across England. Based in a hybrid role in England with occasional travel, you will line-manage Conservation Officers, support volunteers and build partnerships with local NGOs and communities.

You will help grow fundraising opportunities and represent Buglife externally to advocate for invertebrates. Lead the delivery of conservation priorities, manage budgets, and contribute to strategy, with a focus on expanding

Qualifications

  • Experience line-managing staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to plan, monitor and maintain budgets and financial records.
  • Experience developing fundraising proposals and funding applications.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement with NGOs, communities and partners.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills for varied audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Line-manage and support Conservation Officers, ensuring projects are delivered to high standards.
  • Plan, monitor and maintain budgets and financial records for designated budgets.
  • Support fundraising applications and ensure timely reporting and claims.
  • Advocate for invertebrates and conservation messaging externally.
  • Develop external partnerships and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
