Job summary

Newt Conservation Partnership is seeking a Project Assistant to join the Delivery Team. The role focuses on habitat creation, restoration, monitoring and data management across southern England.

It combines practical site work with planning and GIS tasks, enabling early-career professionals to develop skills alongside experienced officers. Salary is £24,000 per annum, with a full-time, 1-year fixed-term contract and flexible/hybrid working.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent practical experience in conservation or related field.
• Willingness to travel to sites and work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Ability to contribute to monitoring, data management and GIS workflows.

Responsibilities

• Assist delivery team in creating and restoring habitats for great crested newts and other wildlife.
• Support project planning, monitoring, mapping and administration across sites in southern England.
