Job summary

Amentum is recruiting a Configuration Engineer to provide expert technical support for SZC SSW replication and related design applications. The role requires overseeing training alignment, configuration management, and interfaces with multiple disciplines across the SZC project.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong engineering background, independent decision-making, and proven capabilities in complex delivery environments, including safety and CDM 2015 knowledge.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Experience as Configuration Engineer, preferably in steelwork design.
• Proven ability to work in a complex self-delivery environment.
• Able to make independent, well-reasoned decisions.
• Track record of successful operational delivery.
• Confident communicator with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of CDM 2015 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enact the operational and strategic vision for SZC SSW replication.
• Ensure adherence to SZC SSW replication Terms of Reference and training needs.
• Guide continuous monitoring of HPC SSW post-EDR design deliverables and changes.
• Identify opportunities or gaps in the SZC replication process related to SSW scope.
• Identify key interfaces with other disciplines and stakeholders.
• Manage open points and potential SZC design changes.

Amentum are currently recruiting a Configuration Engineer who will be required to provide expert technical support and oversight in relation to configuration matters to the teams performing SZC SSW design applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Development and enactment of the operational and strategic vision needed for successful delivery of the SZC SSW replication
• Overseeing adherence to the SZC SSW replication Terms of Reference. It is expected that the Configuration Engineer will ensure that any training needs for new or existing team members pertaining to configuration fields (including the SSW replication sequence) are identified and met
• Overseeing and guiding the approach adopted by the SZC SSW Team to the Continuous Monitoring of HPC SSW post EDR design deliverables, configuration items and site originated design changes
• Applying their knowledge of the SZC replication process that apply to the SSW scope in the identification of opportunities / gaps that require further development
• Identifying key interfaces with other disciplines and the wider project stakeholder network and the nature of such interfaces
• The management of Open Points and potential SZC Design Changes

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• An engineering degree in a relevant subject
• Previous experience in a Configuration Engineer role. Ideally, this role would be associated with the configuration management of the steelwork design
• Proven experience in a complex self-delivery environment
• The ability to make independent decisions which are supported by a sound and reasonable situational analysis.
• Demonstrable experience in both operational planning, and in working to achieve the success of such plans i.e. a track record of success in operational delivery of suitable outcomes
• Confidence when presenting to an experienced and wide-ranging stakeholder group, and in communicating key topics and their operational impact with respect to the perspectives of these stakeholders
• A working knowledge of the requirements of CDM 2015
