Job summary

Morson Edge is recruiting a Configuration Change Engineer for a major nuclear energy infrastructure project. The role is based at Aztec West, Bristol with hybrid working (three days on site, two remote) and occasional site visits to Somerset.

The role reports to the Configuration Manager and sits within the Configuration Assurance team. It involves coordinating change control, data-centric CM practices and end-to-end configuration activities.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant science or engineering subject preferred.
• Experience in Nuclear Industry advantageous (not essential).
• Experience of process development and application within engineering projects.
• Understanding of equipment engineering requirements.
• Knowledge of design processes in Nuclear Industry advantageous (not essential).
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including CDM.
• Proficient project management, organisational and coordination skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder relationship skills with escalation ability.

• Support the Change Control Branch of Configuration Assurance coordinating project activities within Configuration Management processes.

Location: Client offices at Aztec West, Bristol x3 days per week AND x2 days per week remote working.(Note - there may be an infrequent requirement to visit the Project site in Somerset).

Duration: Approval until end December 2026 (with HIGH probability of renewal)

Status: CONTRACT - INSIDE IR35

Reports to: Configuration Manager

Morson Edge are working with a major player in the Energy sector who have a current contract requirement for a Configuration Change Engineer to join their established Project team. All work is associated with a major nuclear energy infrastructure Project in the Southwest. This assignment will be based at our client's offices at Aztec West in Bristol and is offered on a hybrid basis.

Principal Accountabilities

To support the Change Control Branch of Configuration Assurance in coordinating Project activities within the Configuration Management processes. This will involve providing technical assistance and managing activities so that the Configuration Management processes owned by Configuration Assurance are properly, adequately and efficiently implemented across the project.

Main Scope

• Along with the rest of the Change Control Team, the Configuration Engineer will be the preferred point of contact for configuration management processes. In particular, the technical point of contact for Engineering Managers and Design Entities for all configuration management topics
• You will coordinate the contributions from Project stakeholders in the progression of configuration management processes including resolution of Open Points, Design Changes, referential changes, and progressing agreements on Technical Interface attributes.
• You will be responsible for controlling, supporting, overall steering and monitoring of the end-to-end configuration activities
• You will be involved in Design Handovers to the Client to ensure configuration control is maintained
• You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of data-centric ways of working for managing design configuration.
