Job summary

The Conference & Events Hospitality Assistant role at Kents Hill Park, Milton Keynes, is a zero hours, on-site position within Compass Group UK. You will help prepare and set up meeting rooms and event spaces to client specifications and assist on the day to ensure events run smoothly.

Responsibilities include serving food and drinks as required, handling AV equipment, welcoming guests, and coordinating with the kitchen, front office and housekeeping to deliver high‑quality service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and set-up of meeting rooms, event spaces, and equipment in line with client requirements and function sheets.
• Provide on-the-day support during conferences, meetings, banquets, and events to ensure smooth running.
• Handle event equipment such as microphones, projectors, flipcharts, AV systems, and ensure any issues are reported or resolved promptly.
• Welcome clients, delegates, and guests, offering assistance and information throughout their event.
• Work closely with the Conference and Events Manager and wider team to deliver high‑quality service.
• Maintain cleanliness, order, and presentation of all event areas.
• Support with post‑event breakdown, resetting rooms, and preparing spaces for the next function.
• Communicate effectively with other departments (kitchen, front office, housekeeping, AV) to ensure all aspects of events are delivered to standard.
• Adhere to health & safety, fire safety, and company policies at all times.
