Job summary

The Lowry Hotel, Manchester’s iconic five-star hotel, invites applications for a Conference and Banqueting Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operation of the department and ensure every event runs smoothly with exceptional five-star service.

You will coordinate setup, guide staff, and liaise across Events and Kitchen teams to deliver outstanding guest experiences while maintaining the hotel’s standards. Flexibility for evenings and weekends is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day operation of the Conference and Banqueting department and ensure all events run smoothly and deliver five-star service.
• Oversee setup and preparation of function rooms, brief staff, and coordinate food and beverage service.
• Work closely with Events, Kitchen and other hotel departments to meet guest requirements and uphold high standards.
• Monitor service quality, maintain cleanliness and presentation, handle guest enquiries and resolve issues professionally.
• Be flexible with evenings, weekends, early starts and late finishes as per event schedules.

The role involves supervising the day to day operation of the Conference and Banqueting department, ensuring all events run smoothly and efficiently while delivering exceptional five-star service. Responsibilities include overseeing the setup and preparation of function rooms, supervising and supporting team members, briefing staff before events, coordinating food and beverage service, and ensuring all guest requirements are met. You will work closely with the Events, Kitchen and other hotel departments to ensure each function is delivered to the highest standards. The role will also involve monitoring service quality, maintaining cleanliness and presentation, handling guest enquiries and resolving any issues professionally and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will preferably have previous experience within conference and banqueting or food and beverage operations, with supervisory experience being an advantage. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, a strong eye for detail and the ability to lead, motivate and support a team. A proactive approach, the ability to work under pressure and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences are essential.

The role requires flexibility and may involve working evenings, weekends, early starts and late finishes, depending on the hotel's event schedule.
