Job summary

Holcim Battersea is seeking a Concrete Plant Operative to support the automated and mechanical production of concrete at the Battersea site. The role is suitable for reliable, proactive individuals eager to learn, located around Battersea with a view to permanent opportunities.

The position is on-site at Holcim, 100 Silverthorne Rd, Nine Elms, London SW8 3EG, offering a temp-perm contract and an hourly rate of £14.00. Shift pattern runs 7am-6pm Monday to Friday, with optional Saturday work.

Qualifications

• Strong work ethic and desire to learn.
• Previous construction experience desirable but open to other backgrounds.
• Previous machine operation experience desirable.
• CSCS Card or MP Connect would be desirable.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the automated and mechanical production of concrete.
• Inspect and monitor inventory levels for cement and aggregates.
• Conduct pre-shift walkarounds, routine machinery calibrations, minor repairs, and cleaning of belts, silos, and mixers.
• Program and monitor approved mix designs into computer-controlled plant systems to ensure precise measurement and consistency.
• Use the computer control system for the plant.
• Navigate the program of works via computer.
• Use tannoy and 2 way radio to communicate with site.
• Practise high standards of Health and Safety at all times.
