Job summary

Holcim Tilbury Docks is seeking a Concrete Plant Operative to manage automated and manual production of concrete on-site at Tilbury Docks (RM18 7EH). The role offers £14.00 per hour with standard hours Monday–Friday 7am–6pm, 30-minute unpaid lunch, and on-demand overtime.

1–2 year contract with potential to go permanent, ASAP start. Responsibilities include equipment operation, inventory checks, pre-shift walkarounds, calibrations, and ensuring high health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Strong work ethic and desire to learn.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Sound IT literacy.
• Some knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Manage the automated and mechanical production of concrete.
• Inspect and monitor inventory levels for cement, aggregates.
• Conduct pre-shift walkarounds, routine machinery calibrations, minor repairs, and cleaning of belts, silos, and mixers.
• Program and monitor approved mix designs into computer-controlled plant systems to ensure precise measurement and consistency.
• Using the computer control system for the plant.
• Navigating the program of works via computer.
• Using tannoy and 2 way radio to communicate with site.
• Practising the highest standards of Health and Safety at all times.
