Join Our Team as a Residential Porter!

Are you passionate about delivering outstanding customer service? Do you enjoy making a difference in people's day-to-day lives? We're looking for a proactive, customer-focused Porterto join our dynamic team in Cambridge.

If you’re committed to maintaining high standards and resolving issues efficiently, this role is perfect for you.

  • Location: Cambridge, CB3
  • Annual Salary: £30,000
  • Hours/Working Pattern: 4 on 4 off, 7am-7pm

Please note, we are expecting this role to be available from early September, however this is subject to change dependent on completion of the site.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Welcome and Assist: Greet residents and visitors warmly, making them feel at home. Handle queries and assist with maintenance requests.
  • Problem-Solving: Address issues promptly, from maintenance to emergencies, and escalate concerns to the building manager as needed.
  • Security: Conduct regular site walk-arounds, check IDs, and monitor CCTV to maintain building safety.
  • Safety Checks:Looking out for H&S hazards on site patrol,Assist with fire alarm, emergency lighting, and smoke vent testing.
  • Local Knowledge: Offer advice and recommendations about the local area to enhance residents’ experience
  • Cleanliness of Communal areas: Vacuum & mop floors, Dust and polish wooden elements, Clean windows, Cleaning light fittings and replacing bulbs as required, Litter picking, Sweeping pathways, Gardening (Weeding, pruning, hedge trimming).
What You'll Bring:
  • Experience as a concierge is a plus, but a strong customer service or security background is equally valued.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Health & safety qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
  • A positive, can-do attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to handle responsibilities with care.
