Chetham’s School of Music are seeking an Concerts Manager (maternity cover) to join the internationally renowned specialist music school located in Manchester city centre. Chetham’s is a magical place, home to the UK’s largest specialist music school, the oldest library in the English speaking world and a world-class concert venue all in the heart of Manchester.

The Job

  • We are looking for an experienced & dynamic individual who is flexible, hardworking and meticulously dependable.
  • Excelling in all areas from administration and logistical planning to orchestral/stage management.
  • This is a unique and varied position suited to a highly motivated person with superlative communication and organisational skills.
  • A team player, with a grounded disposition and will be able to work with and manage a complicated and busy student performance schedule.
  • This role is anticipated to provide cover between September 2025 and June 2026 (subject to maternity leave of existing post-holder).
  • This is a full-time post, based upon 35 hours per week. During term time working hours should, in the majority, fall within a standard school working day (8.30am – 4.30pm). However, flexibility to work outside of these hours is required (including weekends, evenings and some unsociable hours – particularly during the 3 x annual ‘Music Course’ weeks and other student performance times).

In Return

  • Salary Scale Point 25, up to £33,528 per annum (FTE)
  • Benefits including free catered lunches during term time and free tickets to selected concerts.
