Job summary

Veritas Education is recruiting a Computing Teacher for a mixed secondary school in Middlesbrough to cover a long-term staff absence from 2nd November until 18th December 2026. The successful candidate will deliver engaging Computing lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop their knowledge of Computer Science, programming, digital literacy and ICT.

QTS is desirable but not essential. Applicants from unqualified teachers or experienced cover staff with a strong background

Qualifications

• QTS desirable but not essential.
• Experience teaching Computer Science and/or ICT.
• Strong subject knowledge and classroom presence.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Teach Computing across KS3 and KS4.
• Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons.
• Support students to achieve their full potential.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and learning.
