Hackney Secondary School in East London is seeking a Computer Science & ICT Subject Leader to lead the development and delivery of the computing curriculum. This permanent leadership post starts January 2027 or April 2027, ideal for an experienced teacher with strong technical knowledge and a track record of raising standards.

You will lead CS and ICT across the secondary curriculum, develop schemes of work, mentor colleagues, analyse assessment data and drive improvements in teaching practice.

Qualifications

• QT S essential
• Demonstrates Good or Outstanding teaching
• Strong Computer Science and ICT subject knowledge
• Leadership experience or clear potential to lead a department
• Understands curriculum sequencing, assessment and differentiation
• Communicates confidently with high expectations for student achievement

Responsabilités

• Lead Computer Science and ICT teaching across the secondary curriculum
• Develop coherent schemes of work covering programming, computational thinking and digital literacy
• Deliver engaging, challenging lessons that strengthen technical understanding
• Mentor colleagues and promote consistently strong classroom practice
• Analyse assessment data and implement strategies to improve student outcomes
• Coordinate curriculum resources and contribute to departmental improvement planning
