Job summary

School Of Coding & AI in the UK seeks a passionate educator to join our growing Higher Education provision. You will deliver engaging computing and IT teaching across multiple subjects, plan lessons, and support student outcomes.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Computing or related subject and at least two years’ HE teaching experience; familiarity with curriculum development; weekend teaching availability.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computing, IT or a related subject.
  • 2 years teaching experience in Higher Education or a similar environment.
  • Excellent communication and classroom skills.
  • A student focused approach.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and practical Computing & IT teaching.
  • Plan lessons and learning activities that support strong student outcomes.
  • Make complex technical concepts accessible to a diverse student group.
  • Set, mark and provide constructive feedback on assessments.
  • Support students with their academic progress and developments.
  • Keep teaching content current with industry and technology developments.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with our academic team and university partners.

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to teach future focused technology subjects while helping shape the development of our Higher Education provision.

You'll deliver engaging, practical teaching that helps students develop the technical knowledge, confidence and skills they need for further study and careers in technology.

You may teach across areas including:

  • Programming
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Cybersecurity
  • Data Analysis & Big Data
  • Cloud Computing
  • Networking
  • Database Systems
  • IT Management

The role may also include A Level Math's and Practical Engineering Science, including Electro Mechanical Design.

Requirements

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with a genuine passion for teaching and student success.

Essential
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computing, IT or a related subject
  • 2 years teaching experience in Higher Education or a similar environment
  • Strong knowledge of Computing and IT
  • Ability to teach at least three relevant Computing/IT subject areas
  • Excellent communication and classroom skills
  • A student focused approach
  • Availability to teach weekends where required
Desirable
  • Master's degree or relevant professional qualification.
  • PGCE, HE teaching qualification or Fellowship of the HEA
  • Experience teaching A Level Math's or Engineering Science
  • Industry experience in Computing or IT
  • Experience working with international or diverse student groups

Don't have a formal teaching qualification yet? We are committed to developing Junior Lecturers and will support the right candidates to work towards a recognised teaching qualification where appropriate.
