ABOUT THE CLIENT:

Our client is a major defence manufacturer supporting complex military programmes across land-based platforms and advanced weapons systems. Their Bedfordshire facility delivers mission-critical technology and is growing its precision manufacturing capability. As part of this growth, they’re seeking a skilled CNC Machinist (Miller / Turner) to join their production team working on specialist components for R&D and low-volume defence manufacturing. THE CNC MACHINIST (MILLER / TURNER) ROLE:

You’ll operate within a high-precision CNC environment programming, setting, and operating multi-axis machining centres and turning equipment (3 to 6 axis). This includes R&D and low-volume component manufacturing using Fanuc, Siemens, and Heidenhain languages. You'll support tooling design and optimisation, assist with process improvement, and mentor junior team members. You'll also play a key role in producing complex parts for mission-critical defence systems.

CNC MACHINIST ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Strong CNC Milling experience (essential)
• Turning experience (desirable)
• Programming with Fanuc, Heidenhain, and Siemens controls
• Experience with CAD/CAM and multi-axis machining (3–5 axis)
• Ability to work from detailed engineering drawings
• Knowledge of inspection techniques and quality standards
• Workshop practices and manufacturing experience in a precision setting
• SC clearance required to start (sole UK nationals only); DV clearance required
