Job summary

Nscale is hiring a Staff HPC Systems Software Engineer to shape the technical direction of our HPC platform. You will architect and automate Slurm-based services and collaborate across engineering teams to align interfaces, lifecycle and production operations.

You’ll contribute hands-on as needed, improve reliability and build reusable patterns that scale GPU-backed HPC workloads in a cloud-native environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive production software experience for HPC systems, especially Slurm-based environments.
• Strong track record writing maintainable, testable software in Go or Python.
• Ability to define technical direction across multiple teams or services.
• Strong understanding of Slurm internals, scheduler behavior, and cluster lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the HPC domain's technical direction (Slurm platform architecture, scheduler integrations, cluster lifecycle).
• Define packaging, automation and exposure of Slurm implementations as a service.
• Drive cross-team design for integrations between Slurm, Kubernetes-adjacent systems and platform tooling.
• Lead delivery for 2–4 teams and reduce technical divergence across the HPC platform.
