Job summary

National Vehicle Distribution (NVD) is seeking a result‑driven logistics supervisor to oversee port and compound operations. You will drive efficiency, implement improvements, ensure KPI achievement, and maintain safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong people management, clear communication, and a valid driving license. Applicants should be adaptable to shift coverage and ISO processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics/port operations or similar environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Carrying out tasks with attention to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Drive efficiency from all compound operations.
• Implement new efficiency improvements as required.
• Ensure all KPI's are met.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of damage paperwork.
• Maintain handling, quality and inspection standards for all units.
• Work safely and to the required standard, following ISO processes.
• Lead and supervise staff on the port & compound to meet objectives.
• Communicate effectively with staff and maintain good relations.
• Resolve performance issues promptly and report recurrent ones to Site manager.
• Be available to cover shift requirements as required.

Duties and responsibilities include

• Drive efficiency from all compound operations
• Implement new efficiency improvements as required
• Ensure all KPI's are met
• Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all damage paperwork as per customer requirement
• Ensure handling standards for all units are maintained
• Ensure quality and inspection standards for all units are maintained
• Ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently and to the required standard
• Maintain and adhere to ISO management system and processes and develop where appropriate
• Ensure compliance standards for drivers and transporters are maintained
• Observe company policies and procedures and lead by example
• Manage/supervise staff on the port & compound to achieve stated objectives.
• Communicate effectively with staff and ensure good working relations.
• Resolve performance issues expediently.
• Report reoccurring performance issues to the Site manager.
• Be available to cover shift requirements as required.
