Job summary

At Atlassian Williams F1 Team, the Industrial Placement offers 12 months inside Formula 1, taking on real responsibilities with projects that shape the future car and business. You’ll join a high‑performance team, develop composites for the Chassis, Bodywork and Wings group, and contribute to R&D in advanced materials.

Based at Grove campus in Oxfordshire, you’ll work alongside skilled engineers, benefit from competitive provisions, and gain practical experience to apply at university and beyond.

Qualifications

• Studying towards a degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or related engineering.
• Some understanding of composites materials and manufacturing processes.
• CAD skills; experience with NX software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering engineering designs, drawings and laminates to defined standards and procedures.
• Support cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, quality, prototype and test teams.
• Take the initiative on faults and manufacturing queries, putting teamwork into practice as you help improve processes.
• Contribute to research and development that drives innovation in composite design.

At Atlassian Williams F1 Team, our Industrial Placement gives ambitious students 12 months inside Formula 1. You’ll take on real responsibility with projects that shape the future car and our business. Grow with a cohort from day one, then head back to university with experience you can apply immediately. The Chassis, Bodywork and Wings Department plays a critical role in developing innovative solutions that deliver performance to our Formula 1 cars. Our team of skilled Design Engineers works tirelessly to deliver right 1st time, structurally optimal car parts, directly influencing our performance on the track.

In this placement, you’ll help design composite parts for the Chassis, Bodywork and Wings team, working on drawings and laminates that meet exacting standards. You’ll also contribute to research and development, helping push composite design forward.
