Job summary

Williams F1 Team is offering a 12-month Industrial Placement for ambitious students in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering. You will work on composites design, drawings and laminates, gaining hands-on exposure to real race-car projects within a high-performance team.

You will contribute to research and development, collaborate with manufacturing and test teams, and progress from day one with meaningful responsibilities while returning to university with valuable industry experience.

Qualifications

• Studying towards a degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or a related engineering discipline
• Some understanding of composites materials and manufacturing processes
• CAD skills; NX experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering engineering designs, drawings and laminates to defined standards and procedures
• Support cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, quality, prototype and test teams
• Take the initiative on faults and manufacturing queries, putting teamwork into practice as you help improve processes
• Contribute to research and development that drives innovation in composite design.

At Atlassian Williams F1 Team, our Industrial Placement gives ambitious students 12 months inside Formula 1. You'll take on real responsibility with projects that shape the future car and our business. Grow with a cohort from day one, then head back to university with experience you can apply immediately. The Chassis, Bodywork and Wings Department plays a critical role in developing innovative solutions that deliver performance to our Formula 1 cars. Our team of skilled Design Engineers works tirelessly to deliver right 1st time, structurally optimal car parts, directly influencing our performance on the track. In this placement, you'll help design composite parts for the Chassis, Bodywork and Wings team, working on drawings and laminates that meet exacting standards. You'll also contribute to research and development, helping push composite design forward.
