Job summary

McLaren Composites Technology Centre in Sheffield invites an Engineering Intern for a 12‑month, on‑site placement. You will support Engineering and Quality teams to improve composite processes, optimize flow, and address production issues in a hands‑on role.

You will study a relevant degree with a 2:1 or higher, showing passion for cars and a drive to learn at the cutting edge of automotive technology. This placement offers exposure to tools, processes and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Currently studying for a relevant degree in composite research or engineering.
• On track to achieve a 2:1 or above at a UK university.
• Passion for cars and cutting‑edge automotive engineering.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and support development activities to improve composite manufacturing processes.
• Optimise process and material flow; mitigate bottlenecks through technical innovation.
• Support production activities with fault finding and containment actions.
• Record and analyse complex data to improve process knowledge and resolve issues.

Education

Composite engineering degree (2:1 or higher)
