Purpose of the Role

As a Composite Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and continuously improving process strategies, controls, and documentation across all composite manufacturing functions. This includes optimising workflows, introducing new methodologies, deploying advanced technologies, and driving infrastructure projects to support increased demand—all while maintaining uncompromised health and safety standards and exceptional component quality. Your ultimate goal is to ensure the composite manufacturing function operates in unison, delivering world-class performance from a best-in-class facility. Principal Accountabilities
  • Collaborate with managers, team leaders, and operatives to identify best practices and shared optimisation opportunities.
  • Design efficient workflows and optimise shop floor layouts for maximum productivity.
  • Develop and maintain robust process controls across all composite manufacturing areas.
  • Champion modern equipment and technologies to enhance speed, robustness, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Create and maintain a process engineering roadmap to drive efficiency improvements across departments.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • HND or degree in engineering.
  • Proven track record of delivering infrastructure projects and introducing new working practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to present data effectively.
  • Experience in high-tech precision engineering environments and cross-functional delivery management.
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies, health and safety regulations, and MRP systems.

McLaren Racing Composites (MRC) is based at the McLaren Racing Composites Facility in Woking Business Park. This is a new state‑of‑the‑art production centre with the latest in CNC machines and autoclave technology, an open plan office, gym and quiet room.
