Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Derby to join a growing manufacturing team focused on advanced carbon fibre tooling and composite components. The role involves designing moulds and fixtures, delivering detailed GD&T drawings, and developing concepts for new projects in aerospace, defence, automotive, motorsport and space sectors.

Qualifications

• Strong CATIA V5 experience with Generative Shape Design for surfacing.
• Good understanding of carbon fibre and composite manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent communication and multi-project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design moulds, tooling, jigs and fixtures using CATIA V5.
• Create detailed drawings with GD&T for manufacture.
• Develop concept designs to support quotations and new projects.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to meet manufacturing requirements.
• Provide technical support through manufacturing and inspection processes.
• Liaise with customers on design concepts and project timelines.
