Job summary

SPT Advanced Composites in Towcester, UK, is expanding its composite manufacturing team and seeks a Composite Laminator to support a new mould-making operation for Formula 1 and motorsport clients. We're looking for a Composite Laminator to join the team as we bring this facility online.

You will lay up pre-preg carbon fibre, read engineering drawings, prepare moulds, vacuum bag, and help meet production targets with a focus on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' experience as a Composite Laminator in a disciplined manufacturing environment.
• Background in F1, motorsport, aerospace, or high-end automotive.
• Skilled in hand layup and vacuum bagging.
• Confident reading technical drawings and laminate specifications.

Responsibilities

• Laminate pre-preg carbon fibre components and tooling to tight tolerances using epoxy resin systems.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, ply books, and laminate manuals.
• Prepare moulds and tools with precision ahead of layup.
• Perform vacuum bagging and debulking during layup.
• Load/unload autoclaves and carry out breakout processes.
• De-mould components and prepare for next process stage.
• Perform QA checks and complete QA documentation, work orders and sign-offs.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Collaborate with engineers and team leads to meet production targets.

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum two years' experience as a Composite Laminator in a disciplined manufacturing environment
• Background in F1, motorsport, aerospace, or high‑end automotive
• Skilled in hand layup, vacuum bagging
• Confident reading technical drawings and laminate specifications
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
• Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship not available for this role)
• Able to work to tight deadlines with minimal supervision
• Proactive, flexible, and a good communicator under pressure
• Demonstrate excellent organisational and time management skills
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team or under own initiative.
