Job summary

ALPINE RACING LIMITED is seeking a Component Parts Finisher to remove ridges and artefacts from prototyping parts, ensuring a high-quality surface finish without compromising critical features. Many components are delicate and require exceptional care and precision.

You will finish parts for painting and aerodynamic use, manage packing and storage, apply inserts with adhesives, and maintain a clean, safe workspace. This is a fast-paced environment within a world-class Formula One team in the UK.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret procedures, manuals, specifications, and sample parts.
  • Good organisational skills, logical thinking, and ability to follow and retain instructions.
  • Ability to receive, interpret and act on feedback constructively.

Responsibilities

  • Finish and prepare parts to required standard for painting and aerodynamic use.
  • Book in, collect, mark and identify parts, and properly pack and store them.
  • Install or glue inserts using adhesives and conduct buddy checks for quality.
  • Maintain a clean, organised workspace and perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Support wider workshop activities and ensure health & safety policies are followed.

Job Description

As a Component Parts Finisher, you will be responsible for removing ridges and artefacts from parts produced on prototyping machines, ensuring a high-quality surface finish without compromising critical features. Many components are delicate and require exceptional care and precision throughout the finishing process.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Finishing and preparing parts to the required standard for painting and aerodynamic use, including applying paint products to achieve a consistent finish free from defects such as orange peel or excessive build-up
  • Booking in, collecting, marking, and identifying parts, as well as carefully picking, packing, and storing them to ensure protection
  • Installing or gluing inserts using a range of adhesives and carrying out buddy checks to ensure quality standards are maintained
  • Maintaining a clean and organised workspace, performing basic preventative maintenance on equipment, and managing consumable stock levels within the model shop
  • Supporting wider workshop activities as required and ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures
The Person

We are looking for someone with excellent hand skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with precision on sensitive and high‑value components.

You will demonstrate:

  • The ability to read and interpret procedures, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to determine required finishes
  • Strong manual dexterity and care when handling components, with an awareness of critical features and areas of importance
  • Good organisational skills, logical thinking, and the ability to understand relationships between part numbers while following and retaining instructions
  • The ability to receive, interpret, and act on feedback in a constructive and professional manner
  • A proactive, flexible approach with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and contribute to efficient and effective processes
  • Strong communication skills, along with a calm, reliable attitude and the ability to perform well under pressure, with a clear motivation to succeed
