Job summary

ALPINE RACING LIMITED invites applications for a Composites Design Student Placement based at Enstone for a 1-year period starting July 2027. You will support the design and development of composite components from concept to manufacturing release, collaborating with experienced engineers to ensure performance, manufacturability, and compliance with F1 regulations.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace or Motorsport Engineering for an industry placement in your penultimate year.
• Strong understanding of composite materials and mechanical design principles.
• Experience with CAD software is desirable.
• Familiarity with composite manufacturing processes and design for manufacture.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing composite components using CAD software.
• Support laminate schedules and ply definitions creation.
• Help prepare technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing and tooling.
• Contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, structural analysis and vehicle integration teams to ensure design feasibility and performance.

**The Role**

During the placement,you’llsupport the design and development of composite components, from concept through to manufacturing release.You’llwork closely with experienced design engineers, contributing to CAD modelling, laminate definition, tooling design, and documentation processes that ensure performance, manufacturability, and compliance with F1 regulations.

**Key Responsibilities**

• Currently studying a degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, or Motorsport Engineering and looking for an industry placement as your penultimate year of university

• Strong understanding of composite materials and mechanical design principles

• Experience with CAD software

• Familiarity with composite manufacturing processes and design for manufacture

• Passion for motorsport and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset

• You must have the right to work in the UK as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role

• Be available to attend onsite for an assessment centre inSeptember
