Job summary

Seismic Recruitment is seeking an experienced Engine Components Design Engineer focused on Air and Fuel Systems. The role involves delivering development projects within cost and quality targets, leading cross-functional design reviews, and collaborating with suppliers to meet APQP standards.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in powertrain components, proficiency with Creo and Teamcenter, and excellent communication to coordinate with global teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• 6+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals and engine components.
• Proficient in CAD (Creo) for powertrain design.
• Experience with PLM systems (Teamcenter).
• Experience designing powertrain/engine components.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to manage complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and deliver air/fuel system development projects to time, cost and quality goals.
• Communicate design and project status to peers, stakeholders and management.
• Lead design reviews to gain cross-functional support for new designs and investments.
• Collaborate with suppliers to develop specifications and deliver quality solutions via APQP.
• Assess risk with FMEA and coordinate simulation and validation activities (DVP&R).
• Investigate issues using 8D methodology and drive resolution.
• Collaborate with Product Management to understand customer needs and requirements.
• Write and review technical information to support production design release.

What the Engine Components Design Engineer - Air / Fuel Systems will do:

• Design, Plan and deliver air/fuel system/component development projects to time, cost and quality goals
• Communicate design and project status and key issues to peers, stakeholders and management
• Lead design reviews to gain cross-functional business support for new designs, supplier nomination and capital investment
• Collaborate with suppliers to develop specifications and deliver quality solutions through APQP
• Assess technical risk through FMEA; define and coordinate simulation and validation activities (DVP&R)
• Investigate and resolve technical issues using 8D methodology
• Collaborate with Product Management to understand customer needs and design requirements
• Write and review technical information and technical reports to support production design release
• Collaborate with global teams to implement engineering solutions at worldwide facilities

What the Engine Components Design Engineer - Air / Fuel Systems Will Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering OR related discipline (or equivalent knowledge/experience)
• 6+ years of relevant engineering experience
• Good understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, engine components and/or systems and component development
• Experience of using CAD (Creo preferred) to design powertrain components
• Experience of using PLM systems (Teamcenter)
• Experience designing powertrain and/or engine components
• Regularly supporting peer reviews working with others to share learning and develop robust solutions
• Use of research techniques to identify solutions to problems autonomously
• Good understanding of manufacturing principles and processes
• Self-motivated and able to manage and deliver complex projects to meet commitments
• Effective communication skills and teamwork
