Job Details
  • Job Title: Compliance, Risk, Audit and Safety Officer
  • Location: Central Office based in Islington, hybrid with regular service visits
  • Salary: £35,700
  • Shift Pattern: 12-month fixed-term contract, 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00, with flexibility as required
About the Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated Compliance, Risk, and Audit team, comprising a Director, Head of Service, and three experienced officers. The team delivers high-quality, strategic work supporting SIG's governance, compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will contribute to maintaining a safe, transparent, and inclusive environment, supporting staff, residents, and participants, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and legislation.

  • Review reported safeguarding alerts and work with teams to implement remedial actions
  • Conduct service visits, safety reviews, and provide guidance during engagements
  • Manage data, analyze trends, and produce clear reports
  • Support complaints processes and ensure adherence to policies
  • Investigate whistleblowing concerns, assist the audit team, and protect whistleblowers
About You
  • Experience in complaints, incident handling, safeguarding, data protection, and audits
  • Knowledge of governance systems, risk management, investigations, and report writing
  • Experience managing quality standards and health and safety procedures
  • Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new software
  • Ability to write clear, readable reports
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of stigma and marginalization issues
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation relevant to care and support settings
