Purpose of the Role

This exciting remote-based opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic Risk & Compliance (R&C) function, reporting to the Lead Compliance Oversight Manager (Insurance Broking) for our Advisory platform within the wider Ardonagh Group.

The Ardonagh Advisory Platform is a large, complex, and diverse business covering the full range of regulated activities for all general insurance lines using various distribution methods. The Platform includes an Insurance Broking segment and a Managing General Agent segment.

The role is part of the second line of defence, responsible for oversight of business areas with a focus on the Insurance Broking segment, though some compliance operational tasks will span the entire Advisory platform.

What You Will Do

This overview highlights key responsibilities. You will develop your own objectives with your line manager but focus on:

• Providing advice, guidance, and challenge to support the business in applying risk and regulatory requirements.
• Supporting the embedding of the Risk & Compliance Framework (Decision Focus Next (DFN), Ardonagh Accountability Framework, and the reasonable steps framework) and ensuring policies and standards are maintained.
• Communicating regulatory information clearly and overseeing resulting actions.
• Being a point of contact for risk and compliance queries, ensuring a consistent stance across the function and segment.
• Maintaining oversight of 1st line controls, including Quality Assurance, Complaints (FOS relationship), Training & Competence, Conflicts of Interest, and breach reporting.
• Supporting key regulatory implications for projects and ensuring compliance.
• Overseeing breach and risk event reporting and remediation.
• Contributing to internal and external reporting as needed.
• Analyzing MI to identify gaps, root causes, and trends, and tracking actions accordingly.

Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive knowledge of FCA Rules related to general insurance intermediation.
• Experience interpreting and applying this knowledge throughout the insurance product lifecycle.
• Relevant industry qualification or extensive experience in regulating general insurance intermediation.
