Job summary

Thomas & Dessain is representing a specialist, growing prop trading firm seeking a Compliance Officer. The role centers on trading compliance, market surveillance, and regulatory reporting for algorithmic and digital asset trading.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ relevant compliance experience within proprietary, quantitative, electronic or systematic trading, market-making or a similar trading-led environment.
• Strong knowledge of market abuse, trade surveillance and exchange/venue requirements.
• Experience with, or regulatory knowledge of, digital asset/crypto trading markets (advantageous).

Seeks a Compliance Officer to join their team.

This is a specialist role focused on trading compliance, market surveillance, regulatory reporting and the compliance implications of algorithmic and digital asset trading.

The ideal candidate :

• 3–5 years’ relevant compliance experience within proprietary, quantitative, electronic or systematic trading, market-making or a similar trading-led environment.
• Strong knowledge of market abuse, trade surveillance, algorithmic trading controls and exchange/venue requirements.
• Experience with, or strong regulatory knowledge of, digital asset/crypto trading markets.
• Excellent judgement, communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to work closely with trading, operations and technology teams in a fast-paced environment.
• A legal background and/or Python or SQL skills would be advantageous.

This is not a generalist compliance position - direct exposure to trading activity and surveillance is essential.
