Job summary

BMW Group in the UK offers a placement year in Compliance Monitoring at Farnborough. You will join a team handling advisory, monitoring and reporting on FCA compliance, while building relationships across BMW Financial Services and the wider BMW Group UK.

The role requires studying law, strong Office skills and a proactive, detail‑driven mindset. You will support breach management, regulatory scanning, FAQ ownership, and dashboard maintenance, gaining practical, hands-on experience in governance

Qualifications

• Studying towards a Bachelor's Law Degree or similar (preferably on target for a 2:2 or above).
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
• Strong numeracy and literacy with excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• A self-starter with the ability to work on their own initiative.
• Outgoing personality to interact and network with all areas of the business across BMW Financial Services and BMW Group UK.
• Enthusiastic and passionate to succeed.
• Independent and curious to learn more about the business.

Responsibilities

• Support the Compliance department to provide Compliance Advice, Monitoring and Reporting services on FCA rule-related compliance.
• Assist with breach management processes and upcoming regulations scanning.
• Own frequently asked questions and internal compliance mailboxes.
• Keep action tracking for committees and review findings up to date.
• Maintain compliance risk dashboards and analyze management information.
• Provide independent assurance and timely reporting to the BMW Board on risks.
• Assist with training module creation and ongoing projects within the team.

BMW Financial Services (GB) Limited, Farnborough - Compliance Monitoring - Placement Year (July 2027)

We’re seeking a talented individual with great communication skills, combined with a keen eye for detail. Someone who can bring their own ideas to the table. An individual who enjoys working with people and building strong relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders across the business.

What will you be doing?

Supporting the Compliance department to provide Compliance Advice, Monitoring and Reporting services to the business on FCA rule-related compliance and in particular on:

• Generating documents such as advisory documentation, compliance risk reports; reporting for the senior managers in the form of committee packs.
• Support the breach management process.
• Own the upcoming regulations scanning process.
• Own compliance frequently asked questions and answers.
• Own the Compliance mailboxes to ensure our internal and external customers are getting the timely support they need.
• Keep up to date the action tracking for committees and internal and external review findings
• Keep compliance risk dashboards up to date and obtain and analyse key management information
• Complete trend analysis to proactively identify compliance risks.
• Providing independent assurance and timely reporting to the BMW Board to ensure compliance risks are known and escalated for management and ownership.
• Support any ongoing projects within the team.
• Asisst with the creation of compliance training modules
