Job Title: Compliance Manager - European Logistics

Location: Dublin, Republic of Ireland or Runcorn, England

Contract: Permanent

Closing Date: 30th September 2026

This role may be based in Runcorn or Dublin and will require travel to the alternate site, as well as to relevant 3PL locations, when business needs dictate.

About Us

With over 200 brands sold in nearly 180 countries, Diageo is home to some of the world’s most iconic drinks. From Johnnie Walker and Guinness to Tanqueray, Smirnoff and Don Julio, we craft brands chosen for life’s moments – from everyday connections to landmark celebrations.

About The Function

Supply Chain & Manufacturing is where our brands are made, moved and delivered to the world.

With over half of our people working across more than 100 sites, this is a complex, large-scale operation that brings together production, logistics, engineering and supplier partnerships.

It’s fast-paced and hands-on, with teams working together to ensure quality, efficiency and sustainability at every stage. From sourcing ingredients to getting products into customers’ hands, you’ll play a role in delivering the brands people know and love.

About The Role

As Compliance Manager, you'll lead the strategy, governance and execution of compliance and risk standards across Diageo's Beer Category Primary Logistics operations throughout Europe.

You'll play a critical role in embedding best-in-class compliance practices across multiple locations and third-party logistics (3PL) partners, fostering a strong culture of compliance, governance, risk awareness and continuous improvement. Your work will help protect Diageo's reputation, ensure compliance with internal and external requirements, and drive operational excellence across our European logistics network.

Scope

This role supports operations across Ireland, Northern Ireland, the United Kingdom, all Primary Logistics 3PL locations across Europe, and additional European markets where required. Working across both Diageo-managed and third-party logistics environments, you'll provide compliance leadership and governance support across a complex, multi-site logistics network.

As a key member of the Primary Logistics Leadership Team, you'll contribute to strategic decision-making, risk management, governance and business continuity planning. While the role has no direct reports, you'll deliver results through strong stakeholder management, collaboration and influencing across internal teams and external partners.

What You'll Be Doing
Compliance & Governance
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Compliance Plan covering Quality & Food Safety, Business Risk, Environmental Standards, Regulatory Compliance and Governance requirements.
  • Ensure consistent compliance standards are embedded across European logistics operations and third-party logistics partners.
  • Establish governance processes that monitor compliance performance, drive accountability and support effective decision-making.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for compliance, governance and risk management across the Primary Logistics network.
Risk Management & Business Continuity
  • Lead the identification, assessment and mitigation of compliance and operational risks across logistics operations.
  • Own Business Continuity Planning, including cyber resilience, third-party logistics continuity and operational resilience.
  • Maintain risk registers and ensure robust mitigation plans are implemented and regularly reviewed.
  • Support business preparedness for crisis scenarios and supply chain disruptions.
Audit & Assurance
  • Lead risk-based audits to assess compliance and the effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Drive compliance with Diageo's Controls Assurance and Risk Management (CARM) framework, Governance, Assurance and Risk (GAR) requirements, ISO/FSSC standards, customs, excise duty requirements and other applicable regulations.
  • Ensure audit readiness across logistics operations and third-party partners.
  • Track, manage and drive the timely closure of audit findings, observations and corrective actions.
Continuous Improvement & Performance
  • Develop and embed management systems that strengthen compliance, address risks and improve operational performance.
  • Use audit findings, incidents and performance data to identify opportunities to enhance controls and drive continuous improvement.
  • Define, monitor and report key compliance and risk management KPIs.
  • Lead corrective action plans that improve compliance performance across the European logistics network.
Stakeholder Management
  • Build strong relationships with Category Teams, Logistics Contract Managers, Global Compliance, Governance, Risk, Quality, Environmental and Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment on compliance priorities.
  • Partner closely with third-party logistics providers and external partners to communicate requirements, manage risks, share best practice and drive sustainable improvements in compliance performance.
Best Practice & Capability Building
  • Champion compliance best practice across European logistics sites and third-party operations.
  • Support capability building through coaching, knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Increase awareness and understanding of compliance obligations, governance requirements and risk management principles.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, compliance and operational excellence across the network.
Leadership Expectations
  • Act as a trusted member of the Primary Logistics Leadership Team, influencing strategic decisions and governance priorities.
  • Build collaboration across functions, geographies and external partners.
