Audit & Compliance Assistant
Location: High Wycombe
Salary: Up to 35,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm)
Hybrid Working: Up to 2 days per week from home following successful completion of probation (6 MONTHS)
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an organised and detail-oriented Audit & Compliance Assistant to join a growing and successful business operating within a regulated environment.
This role is ideal for an individual with experience in audit and compliance who is looking to develop their career within a varied position that combines compliance monitoring, quality assurance, business reporting, training coordination and operational support.
Working closely with senior management, you will play a key role in ensuring the business remains compliant with regulatory requirements, company procedures and industry best practice, while helping to drive continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and maintenance of compliance and audit programmes across the business.
- Maintain compliance records and ensure documentation remains accurate and up to date.
- Conduct file audits, call monitoring and quality control checks.
- Monitor compliance activity and provide feedback and recommendations to managers.
- Investigate and manage complaints in line with regulatory requirements.
- Produce management information, compliance reports and business analytics.
- Liaise with external compliance consultants and regulatory bodies where required.
- Maintain company policies, procedures and compliance documentation.
- Manage company licences and regulatory records.
- Monitor website and customer communications to ensure compliance standards are maintained.
- Support the creation and delivery of induction and compliance training programmes.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and help implement best practice.
- Promote a strong culture of customer service, quality and regulatory compliance throughout the business.
- Assist with health & safety administration and office compliance activities.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience within Audit, Compliance, Insurance or a regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of compliance principles and quality assurance processes.
- Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Confident written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
- Experience producing reports, analysing data and identifying trends.
- Professional, proactive and highly organised approach.
- Ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of a business.
