As a Compliance Analyst for LaunchGood, your role is instrumental in ensuring regulatory compliance and maintaining a secure environment for our users. In your role, you will be responsible for conducting extensive reviews of campaigns and performing due diligence on Campaign Creators (CCs), be it individuals or organizations. Another crucial part of your role will be to review Ads in line with our internal policies and guidelines. You will need to demonstrate team spirit by engaging with diverse teams to uphold crowdfunding industry norms, thereby safeguarding our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay updated with regulatory requirements and ensure that our crowdfunding platform complies with all relevant regulations.
- Conduct periodic compliance assessments to identify areas for improvement and recommend necessary changes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement compliance procedures effectively, taking into account the unique aspects of crowdfunding.
- Stay current with compliance news, regulations, and updates, and ensure timely notification of relevant changes to internal stakeholders.
- Due Diligence:
- Examine compliance escalations promptly, ensuring to conduct appropriate screening and due diligence according to our internal protocols and procedures.
- Communicate compliance decisions clearly and concisely to Trust & Safety.
- Review additional documents, such as MoUs, audited financials, and impact reports effectively.
- Assess red flags related to campaigns and/or CCs with a risk-based approach, escalating if further guidance is required to mitigate potential risks.
- Respond to escalations and questions from the wider team regarding compliance queries in an informative manner.
- Work closely with the Ads team to ensure Ads are reviewed within the agreed SLA, currently 48 hours.
- Inform BizDev reps and the Ads teams of decisions related to Ads, additional verification documents needed, and campaign pitch changes.
- KYC Documentation:
- Review and validate customer-provided KYC documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with crowdfunding industry standards.
- Assist in KYC verifications with a focus on crowdfunding-specific requirements.
- Collaborate with the Compliance team to enhance and streamline KYC processes tailored to the crowdfunding sector.
- Compliance Policies and Procedures:
- Leverage your industry knowledge to update compliance policies, procedures, and documentation specific to crowdfunding.
- Continuously evaluate internal operational and procedural compliance to align with industry standards.
- Training and Communication:
- Train employees on industry compliance requirements, keeping them informed about crowdfunding regulations and policies.
- Collaborate within the compliance team to deliver onboarding and ongoing compliance training.
- Stay updated on amendments to crowdfunding regulations through effective research.
Daily Tasks
- Handle escalations from the Trust and Safety team promptly and contribute to ad hoc projects.
- Review Ads collaboratively with the internal compliance team, Ads team, and BizDev representatives.
- Highlight concerning findings to the Compliance Manager and Director of Compliance.
- Assist in monitoring overall platform risk daily.
- Collaborate with other teams to address their requests or queries.
