Job summary

Mission Underwriters is seeking a Compliance/Risk Support professional to join our remote UK team, enabling robust regulatory adherence across MRAs and intermediaries. You will support monitoring, reviews and MI reporting while coordinating training and policy updates.

You will work closely with the Senior Compliance Manager to drive improvements, logging and analyzing incidents, and assisting horizon-scanning to ensure proactive risk management across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Strong MS Excel/Office skills and comfort working with data to produce MI.
• High attention to detail and strong written communication.
• Able to manage a varied workload against multiple deadlines.
• Working knowledge of the UK regulatory framework (FCA rules, SM&CR, Consumer Duty).

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly AR/TII monitoring and file review cycles across Mission’s Appointed Representatives and Tied Insurance Intermediaries.
• Carry out thematic reviews and file checks as directed by the Senior Compliance Manager.
• Produce compliance MI and reporting for management and Board/committee packs.
• Administer and maintain the compliance policy suite, including version control and review scheduling.
• Support complaints handling, logging, tracking and root-cause analysis.
• Log, track and follow up on compliance events (breaches, conflicts, issues, incidents).
• Maintain training and competence records and support delivery of compliance training.
• Assist with regulatory horizon-scanning and tracking upcoming requirements.
• Support the Enterprise Risk Management framework (RCSAs and risk register maintenance).
• Track risk actions and remediation plans to closure, escalating overdue items to the Risk Manager.

Technical Skills

• Working knowledge of the UK regulatory framework (FCA rules, SM&CR, Consumer Duty); insurance or MGA sector exposure preferred.
• Strong MS Excel/Office skills, comfortable working with data to produce MI.
• High attention to detail and strong written communication.
• Able to manage a varied workload against multiple deadlines.

Experience

• Experience in a compliance, risk, audit or regulatory support role; insurance/financial services background preferred but not essential.

This is a remote position. Planned, in-office activities may be required on occasion (typically 2-4x per year).

You must live in the UK and be authorized to work in the UK without requirement of employment sponsorship/visa.
