Job summary

Mphasis UK Ltd. seeks a Head of Compliance to provide independent oversight of regulatory compliance and to establish and oversee AML/CTF arrangements.

The role covers SMF16 (Compliance Oversight) and SMF17 (MLRO) functions, with responsibility for regulatory risk, consumer duty and governance across a principal/appointee model. The post requires extensive FCA experience, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to lead a comprehensive compliance and financial crime program.

Qualifications

• Significant FCA-regulated financial services experience.
• Strong working knowledge of the FCA Handbook including CONC, SYSC, DISP, Consumer Duty and SM&CR.
• Experience developing, implementing or monitoring compliance frameworks.
• Experience undertaking compliance monitoring, regulatory advice and risk assessments.
• Good understanding of AML, sanctions, CDD and financial crime requirements.
• Experience presenting compliance matters to senior management.
• Bachelor-level degree or equivalent; professional qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent oversight of FCA rules, legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain a risk-based Compliance Monitoring Programme.
• Advise and challenge senior management and the Board on regulatory issues.
• Oversee Customer Duty framework and monitor outcomes.
• Oversee Appointed Representative and outsourced activities.
• Act as MLRO overseeing AML/CTF/sanctions and reporting.
• Monitor regulatory changes and implement them across the business.
• Report regulatory risks to the Board and authorities as needed.
• Promote a culture of compliance and ethical conduct.
