Job summary

Prospero Teaching in Preston is seeking a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to support pupils with profound and multiple needs in a specialist SEN setting.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, aid sensory and communication-based learning, use visual aids and AAC, and help develop independence and daily living skills while collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other SEN staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field.
• Experience with complex needs SEN preferred.
• Willingness to learn and be mentored in SEN settings.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated 1:1 and small-group support.
• Supporting sensory and communication-based learning.
• Using visual aids and alternative communication strategies.
• Developing independence and essential life skills.
• Supporting mobility and physical development.
• Assisting with personal care where required.
• Working alongside teachers, therapists, and other SEN professionals.
