Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant for a Specialist SEN School in Preston. You will support pupils with profound needs, including PMLD, autism, and sensory challenges, in 1:1 and small-group settings, aligned with EHCP plans.

Ideal candidates are Psychology graduates with SEN exposure or care experience, comfortable with personal care and mobility support, and eager to gain practical clinical pathways experience in a long-term, full-time role.

Qualifications

• Psychology graduates preferred for understanding of pupil needs.
• Experience with SEN, PMLD, care, or support is desirable.
• Comfortable supporting pupils with complex physical and learning needs.
• Willingness to assist with personal care when required.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support.
• Support sensory and communication-based learning.
• Use visual aids and alternative communication methods.
• Foster independence and essential life skills.
• Assist mobility and physical development where needed.
• Support pupils with personal care as required.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and SEN professionals.
