Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEN setting in the Padgate area of Warrington. The role focuses on supporting pupils with complex autism through 1:1 and small-group work, with emphasis on communication, sensory needs and behaviour support.

Experience with complex autism is essential. The position offers a temporary contract with daily rates of £90–£110, DBS clearance preferred or willingness to apply, and access to CPD and safeguarding training.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with complex autism (essential)
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with complex autism and additional needs
• Working 1:1 and in small groups to support learning and regulation
• Assisting with communication, sensory needs, and behaviour support
• Providing personal care, including toileting and hygiene support
• Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals
