Job summary

Salvation Army Homes is seeking a Complex Needs Support Worker for our South West Surrey Refuge. You will provide trauma-informed, person-centred support in an accommodation-based setting, helping residents develop independent living skills and plan move-on outcomes.

You will work with multiple agencies, maintain a safe living environment, and contribute to meeting the local authority contract and KPIs related to quality, efficiency, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing, support work, health and social care, or related field.
• Experience with people with complex needs.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• Trauma-informed and psychologically informed environments knowledge.
• Ability to build positive relationships with survivors of domestic abuse and external partners.

The Role

Salvation Army Homes is an organisation that provides a range of housing and support services to vulnerable people. Our aim is to support people in achieving their full potential. Having secured a new contract, we are currently going through a period of change and have a vacancy for a Complex Needs Support Worker at South West Surrey Refuge.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide effective, trauma-informed support through teamwork in an accommodation-based setting.
• Promote and develop independent living skills, supporting women to achieve successful move-on outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with multiple agencies involved in the care and support of women and their children.
• Help maintain a safe home environment and ensure compliance with regulatory and service requirements.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of the local authority contract, supporting organisational objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to efficiency, quality, and customer service standards.

What You’ll Bring

• Relevant experience in housing, support work, health and social care, or a related field.
• Relevant experience working with people with complex needs.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• A values-driven approach aligned with our mission and organisational objectives.
• The ability to work in a trauma-informed way, recognising and responding to the impact of trauma.
• An understanding of, and experience working within, psychologically informed environments.
• The ability to build positive and professional relationships with survivors of domestic abuse, colleagues, and external partners.

Working Arrangements

• This is a service-based role working Monday to Friday during office hours, with occasional evening and weekend shifts. The role also includes shared on-call duties as part of the team.
• Travel is required to attend professional meetings, team training sessions, and conferences.
