Waythrough is hiring a Complex Needs Practitioner – Gambling to support individuals with gambling-related harms across community settings and multi-agency partnerships. You’ll manage caseloads, carry out assessments and deliver tailored interventions in a person-centred recovery framework.

The role involves outreach, safeguarding, and working across health, social care and housing services to enable positive, sustainable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of individuals experiencing gambling-related harm and complex needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with service users and their families where appropriate.
• Complete comprehensive assessments, care plans, reviews and aftercare support.

• Develop personalised, strengths-based support and recovery plans focused on meaningful outcomes.
• Identify and manage risk including safeguarding concerns.
• Provide harm-reduction interventions and promote resilience and wellbeing.
• Help access healthcare, social care, housing, employment, education and community services.

About the Role

As a Complex Needs Practitioner (Gambling), you will manage your own caseload and provide high-quality, holistic support to individuals experiencing gambling-related needs.

Working flexibly across the community and within multi-agency partnership settings, you will engage people through outreach and deliver tailored interventions based on their individual circumstances, strengths and goals.

Gambling-related harm can affect every area of a person’s life. As part of this role, you may support individuals with issues including:

• Gambling-related harm and recovery
• Mental and emotional wellbeing
• Physical health
• Family and relationship difficulties
• Domestic abuse
• Exploitation and safeguarding
• Housing and financial difficulties
• Employment and education
• Social isolation
• Substance misuse and other associated behaviours
• Engagement with health, social care and rehabilitation services

You will work alongside individuals to identify their needs, reduce risk and develop practical strategies that support positive change and long-term recovery.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Identify, assess and manage risk, including safeguarding concerns.
• Provide harm-reduction interventions and promote resilience, independence and wellbeing.
• Explore and address the wider impact of gambling, including financial, family, employment, housing, physical and emotional health issues.
• Support individuals to access appropriate healthcare, social care, housing, employment, education and community services.
• Advocate for service users and help remove barriers to accessing appropriate support.
• Work closely with voluntary and statutory agencies, health professionals and other partner organisations.
