Job summary

Morgan Hunt UK Limited seeks a dedicated Complex Needs Learning Support Assistant to support learners with SEND in North London. The role combines educational support with personal care and healthcare tasks to help students access learning and develop independence.

You will provide one-to-one and small group support, assist with mobility and PEG feeding, administer medications per plans, and collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young adults with SEND and complex needs.
• Proven experience delivering personal care.
• Training and practical experience in manual handling and moving/handling equipment.
• Experience administering medication.
• Experience supporting learners with PEG feeding and complex medical needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work calmly and effectively in a challenging but rewarding environment.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting learner welfare.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to learners with complex SEND needs.
• Support learners to access educational, vocational, sensory, and life-skills activities.
• Deliver personal care, including toileting, changing, feeding, dressing, and personal hygiene support.
• Administer medication in accordance with individual healthcare plans and policies.
• Support learners requiring PEG feeding and other specialist medical interventions.
• Undertake manual handling duties using hoists, slings, and equipment.
• Support learners with mobility, positioning, and physical disabilities.
• Work with teachers, therapists, healthcare professionals, and families.
• Promote learner independence, communication, wellbeing, and inclusion.
• Maintain records related to learner support, medication, and care requirements.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety, infection control, and risk management procedures.
