Job summary

Harmony Healthcare in Crawley is seeking compassionate Complex Care Healthcare Assistants to join our community-based teams for overnight care. The role involves high-level clinical tasks including tracheostomy care and PEGJ medication administration, across a 7×10-hour night shift schedule starting ASAP.

We require experienced HCAs for paediatric complex care with strong clinical skills, capable of delivering safe, attentive overnight support in a home setting.

Qualifications

• Tracheostomy care and tracheostomy changes.
• Airway suctioning.
• Medication administration via PEGJ.
• Nebuliser administration (following assessment).
• Gastrostomy stoma care.

Shift Details

• Location: Crawley RH11
• Role: Healthcare Assistant (HCA)
• Hours: 7 × 10-hour night shifts per week
• Start Date: ASAP
• Pay Rate: £17 per hour Monday to Friday and £17.50 on weekends

Clinical Care Requirements

• Tracheostomy in situ, requiring frequent suctioning.
• Oxygen therapy at 0.5L via a Swedish nose.
• High risk of aspiration.
• PEGJ feeding, currently pump-fed for 16 hours per day.
• Gastrostomy stoma care.

Essential Specialist Skills & Experience

• Tracheostomy care and tracheostomy changes.
• Airway suctioning.
• Medication administration via PEGJ.
• Nebuliser administration (following assessment).
• Gastrostomy stoma care.

Additional Information

Parents currently undertake intermittent catheterisation three times daily. This may increase if the client develops a UTI. There is also the potential for care staff to undertake catheterisation in the future, subject to appropriate training and competency assessment.
