Job Description & Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Complex Care Team Leader to join our team and provide leadership and support across our more complex care packages.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong experience supporting people with learning disabilities, neurodivergent conditions, behaviours that may challenge and complex support needs, who is confident leading and developing care teams in the community.

We are particularly interested in candidates with strong experience in learning disabilities, neurodiversity, PBS and behavioural support. A clinical background is not essential; however, you must be confident recognising when clinical or specialist support is required and escalating appropriately.

If you are passionate about supporting people to live safe, meaningful and independent lives, enjoy developing others and are looking for a role where you can make a real difference, we would love to hear from you.

  • Experience supporting people with complex behavioural or social care needs.
  • Experience providing leadership, guidance or supervision to care staff.
  • Experience completing or supporting competency assessments and care observations.
  • Ability to recognise changes in behaviour, presentation and risk.
  • Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support principles and their application when supporting people with learning disabilities, neurodivergent conditions and behaviours that may challenge.
  • Knowledge of de-escalation and proactive behavioural support.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with service users, families, staff and professionals.
  • Excellent observation and written-recording skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and provide leadership during challenging situations.
  • Ability to identify when a concern is outside their competence and requires escalation.
  • Commitment to person-centred care and positive risk-taking.
  • Ability to use electronic care planning and recording systems.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable

  • Experience working with learning disability services.

  • Experience with restrictive-practice awareness and least-restrictive approaches.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience supporting people following placement breakdown or transition.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching care staff.
  • Experience completing audits or quality monitoring.
