Job summary

Cornerstone Community Care is looking for new Complex Care Practitioners to join #TeamBaxterView and support eight individuals living in their own flats. The role covers around-the-clock support, with shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends and sleepovers.

You don't need prior health and social care experience; what matters is your attitude, caring nature and willingness to learn. Training will be provided to develop confidence in complex care tasks and independent living support.

Qualifications

• Experience in Health & Social Care would be great, but it's not essential.
• Caring responsibilities outside of work are welcomed.
• Be comfortable working independently and willing to develop with training.

Responsibilities

We're looking for new Complex Care Practitioners to join our fantastic #TeamBaxterView working up to 39 hours per week. We also have relief opportunities available if you're looking for something more flexible.

Our team and the individuals you'll support

You'll join a friendly, welcoming and dedicated team supporting eight individuals varying needs to live in their own flats.

We support a lady who has an acquired brain injury. She loves to get out every day whether it's shopping, coffee, dinner or going to her clubs. She is a very sociable, kind and funny person who likes to joke around with her team and loves to have her hair and make up done each day.

One of the gentleman we support enjoys nothing more than going for a pint and placing a bet or two on the football. Being loyal to his team, he loves going to as many as he can. He enjoys being kept busy out and about chatting to people as he goes. As well as being active, he looks forward to holiday every now and again.

By supporting people in their own homes and communities, you'll be helping them to:

What we need you to bring

Experience in Health & Social Care would be great, but it's not essential. What matters to us is who you are, how you treat people and what you bring to the team.

Perhaps you have caring responsibilities outside of work. Maybe you've supported a family member or friend. You could have experience working with people in another setting, or you may simply be someone who is patient, reliable, calm and compassionate.

Life skills count too

We'll give you the training, guidance and support you need to develop into a confident Complex Care Practitioner.

You'll need to be comfortable working independently and, with the right training and support, be willing to develop your confidence in supporting people whose behaviour may sometimes be challenging.

We want people who are passionate about the people we support having the same opportunities, choices and experiences as everyone else.

Whether you're helping someone enjoy their favourite hobby, supporting them to get out into the community, encouraging greater independence at home or simply being there when they need you - what you do can make a real difference.

Shift Patterns

We provide dedicated around the clock support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so our shift patterns do involve early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays and sleepovers. We have a mixture of short and long shifts.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.

If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
