Job summary

Northwest Veterinary Specialists is seeking a proactive Patient Care Assistant for a permanent, full-time role in London. The position involves assisting with patient handling, theatre preparation, instrument cleaning, and infection control.

You will support Veterinary Surgeons, Veterinary Nurses and front-desk staff while ensuring high standards of care and welfare for pets. The ideal candidate will have experience in veterinary, medical or care sectors and a passion for animals.

Qualifications

• Experience in veterinary, medical or care sectors preferred.
• Ability to handle and restrain patients in a gentle, stress-free manner.
• Willingness to work 40 hours per week with early shifts and some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient handling and restraint in a patient-friendly manner.
• Prepare theatre for surgeries and assist with instruments cleaning and disinfection.
• Care for patients, ensure they are fed and exercised regularly.
• Run in-house lab tests and handle packaging of biological samples.
